MSNSound is dedicated to tracking and understanding aircraft noise in the vicinity of the Dane County Regional Airport in Madison, Wisconsin. In addition to live tracking of aircraft and noise levels in the areas around the airport, recorded data are used to track trends in aircraft noise over time, with the goal of providing a better understanding of the nature of aircraft noise on the community. There are two components to the system:
All information is updated once per second and archived for later analysis to identify individual aircraft noise events, which in turn provide the basis for summary statistics related to aircraft noise.
While reasonable efforts have been made to make the information as accurate as possible, the data are presented here 'as-is' with no warrantees, express or implied.
